Babysitting, Tutoring, Healing

Howdy Folks,

I feel like I've been away forever since I haven't had time to post in the past few days.  What with babysitting my adorable niece, tutoring my sweet nephew, getting sick, going to doctor's appointments, & trying to clean & organize my home well, there wasn't much time for anything else.
But I can take a moment now to breathe. Ahhhhhh....  :)

Today I am sharing a scrapbook layout that I recently completed.  I apologize for the bad lighting.  I should have waited till morning to take the pictures, but I was too excited and wanted to post them today.  :)  You'll notice that I used pink glitter glue in certain spots, but for some weird reason it looks green on the black "Smile" tag.  I also added a couple of little pearls from the Bridal Collection by David Tutera on the flowers.

Christmas in July???  Well, I have been in a "Christmasy" spirit because I've been able to play with my crafting toys this summer.  :)   Usually, I don't have that luxury during the summer.  So, here is a Thanksgiving/Christmas project that I'd like to share: double-sided placemats.

Again, I apologize for my tardiness in posting.  And I REALLY, REALLY appreciate that you're taking the time to check out this blog.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Cards & Crochet

 Hello All,

I'm back to share ANOTHER baby card.  :)   I made this card long ago for another of my husband's coworkers.  (Now I know why I make so many baby cards!)  I didn't have much time to make this card, but luckily, his coworker liked it.  I took this picture at night, so I had terrible lighting.  I apologize for that.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I also enjoy sewing.  Well, another of my interests is crocheting.  My 8th grade teacher taught us girls to crochet (Thanks Mrs. Kidd!!).  However, I must admit that I didn't pick up a crochet needle again till AFTER college!!!!  (Sorry, Mrs. Kidd!!)  Needless to say, my crochet skills need improvement, but I find it relaxing.  So here is one of my current crochet projects.

When I started this scarf, I didn't realize how LONG I had made the beginning row, so I crocheted the ends together & turned it into an infinity scarf.  This is the "lace" technique and my first time trying it.  Below is a picture of a closer view.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Tutoring & Crafting

Hello folks,

I hope you are enjoying your week so far.  I was asked to tutor for the next month, so I've been spending time doing my research, planning, & preparing for that.  However, I am managing to sneak in some time to craft, even if it means staying up until the wee hours of the morning.  But that's not too difficult for me, since I am a night owl.  :)
Recently, my husband asked me to make a baby card for one of his coworker's baby shower.  Here is the card.  I added some glitter around the edge of the stroller, the wheels, & hearts.

The next card is a birthday card, and I originally created it for a Moxie Fab (www.moxiefabworld.com) birthday card challenge based on the provided sketch, but decided against it.  I still plan on submitting a card, so I will need to create a different one.  If you paper crafters haven't browsed through the Moxie Fab blog, you should.  There are so many creative ideas/ inspirations and challenges.

Have a great evening/night & thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting,
Angie

Cleaning & Crafting

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I finally had to force myself to stay away from crafting these past few days in order to catch up on some house cleaning & laundry....
In an earlier post, I mentioned that I'm beginning to submit my cards & layouts to craft magazines.  Well, not surprised, my first submission wasn't accepted considering how great & talented other crafters are.  However, I'm glad that I FINALLY got around to putting my movie-ticket memorabilia in my scrapbook. (Trying to look on the bright side here.)  :)   I actually started collecting these tickets when my husband & I began dating (yes, I know I'm weird).  He had no idea I was collecting them until I showed him the completed layout.  So, below is my first rejection, er submission.  :)'

 Pg. 1

    Pg. 2.

Pg. 1 (I wanted to get a close up of the sewing detail.)

The tickets are yellowing because they are so old! Some are from 2009.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Blog Galore

Howdy,

I hope everyone is staying cool.  I've been avoiding the heat by staying indoors & only stepping outside if it's ABSOLUTELY necessary. :)  Consequently, I've had time to view various crafting blogs, and I'm completely enjoying them.  I'm having a Blog-Galore Fest (I don't know if that's a real word.) and I'm amazed at the amount of talent out there.  One of the blogs that I'm addicted to is http://snippets-of-mendi.blogspot.com.  I like her colorful style...

Here are my cards for today.  I recently noticed that a lot of my cards have a baby or wedding theme. :)

Red All Around

Hello Y'all,

Well, I'm excited because I just submitted my VERY FIRST scrapbook layout to a scrapbooking magazine!!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll accept it.  I'm not able to share it yet, but I will once I get the ok.  If I'm not accepted, then I will just be content that I got to scrapbook some of my memorabilia.  I'm going to continue submitting my crafts to various magazines, so I'll let you know how that works out....

Anyways, here are some cards that I'd like to share with you.

Aside from paper crafting, I also enjoy sewing.  So here is one of my sewing projects.  This is a craft/ teaching apron and I sewed sections of various widths for pockets.  I actually wear an apron while teaching.  I was CONSTANTLY losing my pens, markers, & other small items around the class.  This completely saved me hunting time and my sanity.  :)

It looks like I've been using red quite a bit...  Have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Thoughts of Love

Happy Friday Everyone!!!!!

Here is my second post for my blog.  I created these cards not too long ago.  I created the first one from my left-over scraps & it would be perfect for Valentine's Day or just to surprise your loved one on any day. The picture isn't very good, but I added some glittery accents to the card.
The next card is a Shabby Chic "Thinking of you" card.

Have a great weekend!  And thanks for stopping by.  :)

Stork Baby

Hello fellow crafters, readers & bloggers!!!  I'm excited because this is my very FIRST post on my blog!!  Friends & family have mentioned for years that I should promote/sell/share my crafts.  Well, after months & years of thinking (& more thinking) I've decided to create this blog in order to share my crafts.  This is a completely new endeavor for me, so please bear with me as I stumble along this learning process.

And to kick off this blogging celebration, I'm sharing a baby card I made a while back.
