Scrappy Stuff 2

Howdy All!!

I feel like I haven't updated my blog in FOREVVVERRRR.  Truth be told, I haven't had much crafty time lately.  I decided to redo my craft/guest/storage room this weekend, and I'm still working on it.  It's amazing how much junk shows up when redoing a room!!

Anyways, I've been trying to use my mounds of scraps, so today I'm sharing another card that was created with all paper scraps (except the base).

(Supplies: cardstock, pattern paper- from my stash, sequins, stamp- Unity Stamp Co., black ink, glossy accents)

Well, I better get back to cleaning my wanna-be-craft room if I want to be done sometime this year. ;)
Thank you so much for coming over to visit.  Have a great day. :D

Marvelous Monograms!

Hi Friends!

I am popping in today to share my design team project for challenge #11 at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  For this challenge, we created a monogram project.  It can be a layout, card, or "off the page" creation.

I wanted to create something that someone else might enjoy, so I decided on sprucing up a gift bag for a special niece.

Let's begin with some detail pictures:
I used a piece of transparency, sequins & heart confetti for this little "bling" section.  I sewed the transparency to the cardstock & hid the stitching with washi tape.

I used glitter cardstock for the "L" & cut it with my Cameo.

I also removed the tough, cord handles and replaced them with ribbon.

(Supplies: kraft gift bag, cardstock in pink, gray & glitter, pattern paper- Kiwi Embroidery Paper Co., sequins, transparency, border punch- Martha Stewart, machine stitching, washi tape, ribbon, glue dots)

I really hope my niece likes the wrapping as much as the gift. ;)
So what kind of monogram project will you create?  Go play and then link up your project at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges. :D

Thanks for stopping in today!

Angie

Scrappy Stuff

Hello Everyone!!

I hope you are having a "sweet" day so far.  According to holidayinsights.com, today is Chocolate Mint Day.  I ADORE chocolate, but not a huge fan of mint chocolate.  Don't get me wrong, I'll still eat it. :D

Well, today I am sharing a "sweet" birthday card.  I made this card with my scrap pieces.  I have large, medium, & small zip lock bags with scrap pieces.  One of my mottos is: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Repurpose.  So I hate to waste paper, or anything for that matter.  I have made about 4 dozen gift tags out of my scraps, but I've been trying to think of other ways to use them.

This card was made with all scraps, except the base.

(Supplies: cardstock, pattern paper, sequins, ink, sticker- from my stash, stamp- Papertrey Ink)

Here are a couple of my scrap tags:
(Supplies: cardstock, pattern paper, sequins, sentiment stamp- Hampton Art, sticker, banner punch- Fiskars)

So how do you use your scraps?
Well, time for me to skedaddle.  Have a great, sweet day. :D

Layering the Love

Happy Monday!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  I was finally able to feel some peace & comfort regarding the loss of my friend.  In my last post I mentioned that I wasn't up to making "love" projects.  But one thing that my friend truly demonstrated in her life was genuine love.  It poured out of her smile, words, hugs and her actions.  So in her honor, I made a "love" card. :)

This card was based on a sketch recipe from Papertrey Ink.  Let's begin with a detail picture:  (No, I didn't break the container next to the card, it's actually made that way.)  :)

The 3 little hearts at the top are from the border punch.
(Supplies: cardstock, heart border punch- Martha Stewart, stamps- Unity Stamp Co., Perfect Pearls in Pink Gumball, paint brush, Versa Mark ink, black ink)

Well, friends, this does it for me today.  Muchas gracias for stopping in today and make sure to go love your loved ones. :)

Happy Crafting,
Angie

P.S.  Just a reminder that the current challenge at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges ends Thursday, Feb. 20.  Go get your projects posted. :D

Sincere Sympathy

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope that you are enjoying or enjoyed this special day with your special someone. :)

I know it's more fitting to post a love/friendship project, but with the loss of a friend, I decided to make a different card.  I was really shocked to receive the news earlier in the week, so my heart wasn't into "love" projects.  I apologize for the grainy picture, again.

(Supplies: cardstock, stamps- Hampton Art, rhinestones & pearl- Bo Bunny, Perfect Pearls in Sour Apple, Grape Fizz, & Pink Gumball, paint brush, Versa Mark ink)

I truly appreciate that you took the time to stop by.  Have a wonderful weekend & make sure your loved ones know how much you care. :)

Perfect Pearls Projects

Hello All!

I am running on little sleep, so I hope my words on this post make sense. If not, please let me know.  :0)

Today I am sharing some cards that use Perfect Pearls.  I FINALLY got the chance to try them, and I really like them.  Perfect Pearls is a powder that you brush onto images stamped with Versa Mark ink.  And let me tell, they reflect the light beautifully.  Dark paper works best for this product.  Again, my apologies for the grainy pictures.

I know I have shown you the following stamp before, so I'm sure you're bored with it.  But I like the mileage I'm getting out of it. :)
(Supplies: cardstock, stamps- Stampendous! & Craft Smart, rhinestone- Bo Bunny, Perfect Pearls in Sour Apple & Pink Gumball, Versa Mark ink, small paint brush)

I am entering the next card to One Layer Simplicity Challenge.  The current challenge is to repeat an image or sentiment.  By the way, I used a pencil eraser to create the 3 dots in the top corner.  Who knew a simple school tool could be so handy in crafting? :)

(Supplies: cardstock, stamps- Unity Stamp Co., white & Versa Mark ink, Perfect Pearls in Blue Raspberry, Grape Fizz, & Pink Gumball, pencil eraser, small paint brush, rhinestone- Bo Bunny)

Well, friends, time for me to head out.  Thank you for taking some time to visit my little world.  Have a great day. :D

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Purple Love

Howdy Friends!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  Mine consisted of visiting friends, errands, & organizing.  Not too fond of running errands, but I enjoy the other two. :D

Well, today I am popping in to share a card that I am linking to the current challenge at City Crafter Challenge.  The challenge is to add a splash of color while using black/grey or white as the main color. Here is their inspiration picture:

Lovely, isn't it?

Let me apologize for my grainy picture.  I used black cardstock & it doesn't photograph well.  Plus, I ran out of white cardstock. :(

(Supplies: cardstock, white ink, tape sheet, swirl stamp- Inkadinkado, sentiment stamp- Craft Smart, glitter- Jewel Glitter Ritz, pearls- Bo Bunny)

Well, that does it for me today.  I wish you a fabulous day and thank you so very much for stopping in to visit. :D

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Soda-licious!

Hello Again!!

This is my second post for today.  And it's a record breaker- 2 posts in one day! :)

For this post I am sharing my Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges design team project.  This current challenge is a Valentine's Day challenge with 2 parts.  Part 1) create a card or layout based on this sketch:

Part 2) Share how you met your significant other.

So let's begin with part 1.  It's hard to detect, but I added glossy accents to the straws and to the 2 hearts in the middle.  I stamped the soda bottle, fussy cut it, and placed it on pop dots for some dimension.

I typed my sentiment on the computer and cut it into a banner.  I used faux & real stitching on this card.
(Supplies: pattern paper, cardstock, stamp- Unity Stamp Company, sequins, black ink, red & white pens, machine stitching, glossy accents, pop dots, computer software)

Part 2: How I met my husband?
I was grocery shopping and I ran into my neighbor.  He began telling me about one of his coworkers and he wanted me to meet him.  I was NOT interested because I had just gotten out of a relationship.  But my neighbor was VERY insistent, which was completely out of his character.  He said, "I'm not asking you to marry him!  I'm just asking you to meet him!"  I had never heard him raise his voice- not even at his 4 kids!! So to appease him, I went on a blind date with his coworker.  That turned out to be the one and ONLY blind date I ever had. :D

There you have it folks!  Not many people knew this story. ;)  Glad I could share it with you. :D
So how did you meet your significant other?  Get your projects posted to Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges by Feb. 20 and share your stories with us.  I would love to hear them. :)

Thanks for stopping in to visit!!

So Sorry

Hola Everyone!

Did you know that aside from being the American Heart Month & Black History Month, February is also known as the Creative Romance Month?  Hmm, how appropriate. :)

My project today has nothing to do with romance, but it is creative.  Does that count? :D
Well, today I have a card for those difficult times in our lives- sympathy times.  It's also one of the categories that is difficult to make, at least for me.  Normally, I share a detail picture, but black is actually difficult to photograph well.

(Supplies: cardstock, ink- Color Box, pearls- BoBunny, stamps- Hampton Art & Inkadinkado, tape sheet, butterfly die-cut, glitter- Jewel Glitter Ritz)

So what will you be creating for Creative Romance Month?
Well, friends, I want to thank you for stopping by and I want to wish you a great day. :D

Courage

Howdy Folks!

I hope you had a great weekend & Monday.  Mine was great, but I started feeling icky.  Probably due to all the junk food this weekend.  I have eaten more junk food these past few days than I have eaten in several MONTHS combined.  Time to head back to the fruit and veggies. :)

Well, I'm popping in to share a- no, not a card, a...layout. :)  I will be entering this layout into the Scrap Challenge Yourself blog.  The point of this blog is to include pictures of yourself in the layouts.  Let me tell you, there's slim pickings here. :D  I don't like to be in front of the lens.  Especially since my illnesses have turned me into Olive Oil- you know, Popeye's girlfriend. ;)

Anyhoo, the theme for this challenge is One Little Word, which was created by Ali Edwards.  The concept of "One Little Word" is to "adopt" a word for the year and use it.  My word?  COURAGE.  Lord knows I need some of that. :D
Let's begin with a few detail pictures.

To create these butterflies, I used the negative portion of a die-cut, sponge, & ink and then sponged the shape on the base.  Then I used the die-cut again to trace the butterflies & fussy-cut them.

I added sequins to each butterfly to represent their "colorful" spots.  It's hard to see, but each butterfly has a name: Courage, Valor, & Brave.

(Supplies: cardstock, journal cards- Echo Park, pattern paper, butterfly die-cut, washi tape, sequins, letter & flower stickers, medal brad, type writer, machine stitching)

So what will be your word this year?

Well, time for me to bid you a good day. Thank you for coming over to visit. :D

Happy Crafting,
Angie

P.S. Just a reminder: Challenge #9 (Name - Color - Plus One Color) for Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges Blog is due Feb. 6 at 11:55 pm (European time)  Go link your project. :D
