Clothed in Strength

Hola Friends!

I am stopping by to share my project for the new challenge at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  The challenge is to use at least 3 colors from this color scheme:

I created a home décor piece.  Let's begin with some detail pictures:

I distressed 2 flowers with a Tim Holtz marker in "Crushed Olive" and added glitter to the third one.  I stamped the leaves onto vellum, cut them, and added glossy accents.

I paper-pieced the bottom part of the dress & colored everything else with colored pencils and a marker.  I added glossy accents to the bow.

Sorry about the lighting.  The light source was behind the décor.
(Supplies: canvas; cardstock; pattern paper- my stash; stamps- Unity Stamp Co.; glossy accents; flowers- Recollections; distress marker- Tim Holtz; glitter- Martha Stewart; pearls & gem stone- Bo Bunny; ribbon; vellum; black ink)

So what comes to mind when you see the color challenge?  Go have some crafty fun and then link up here!

I would like add this to the current Unity Be Inspired Challenge, please. I loosely used the card sketch, as well as the Friends with Flair challenge. :)

Thank you for stopping by!!  I ALWAYS appreciate your visit. :D

Argyle Style

Happy Wednesday!

Are you enjoying your summer so far?  Summer is my least favorite season, at least where I currently live.  Sure, I like taking vacations and slowing down the pace of life a bit, but it's hard to enjoy when it's constantly over 100 degrees.  In fact, anything over 90 is already too hot for me.  I hope you are having better weather.

Anyhow, yesterday I shared the first of two cards using my own made-up challenges, which were to use scraps and create the focal image without stamps.  Here is the second card.

I cut 1 inch squares and arranged them in an argyle style.
(Supplies: cardstock; scrap paper; sequins; sentiment stamp- Hero Arts; black ink- Memento)

So how do you use your scrap paper?  Would love to hear your ideas.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate your visit.  :D

Scripty Card

Howdy Friends!

How are you doing?  Guess who decided to pay me a little visit?..... Mr. Mojo!  About time!!  :D

I was browsing various crafting companies online and decided to work with whatever sketch or challenge I saw.  And I gave myself two extra challenges: 1) use only my scraps & 2) don't use a stamp as the main image.  Well, I created 2 cards with my self-imposed challenges. :)  For the first card I used a sketch from My Favorite Things:

It's super hard to see, but I added a bit of shimmer to the brown cardstock.

Everything on the card, except the button, card base, and ribbon, came from my scrap bag.
(Supplies: cardstock; button- Recollections; ribbon- Celebrate; die-cut flowers- Cameo; pattern paper & brown cardstock- from my stash; shimmer mist- Paper Smooches)

Well, dear friends, time for me to get going.  Tomorrow I'll share my second card.  Thank you so, so, SO much for stopping by and for sticking around while Mr. Mojo abandons me. ;)

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Sparkly Explosives

Howdy Folks!

How is your week going?  I apologize for being MIA (missing in action) lately.  I lost my mojo this past weekend, and I haven't been able to find it.  Does this ever happen to you?  I keep going into my wanna-be craft room, and then I walk out after about 5 minutes.

But I was able to grasp a bit of mojo before it slipped away, again.  So in that fleeting moment I created this:

I die-cut flowers and used them as fireworks. :)  Trying to figure out ways to stretch my products, here.
(Supplies: cardstock; tape sheet; die-cut flowers; glitter- Silhouette; stamps- Papertrey Ink; glitter glue- Martha Stewart; blue and red ink- Color Box; Big Shot)

This card has more sparkle than I normally use, but I like the pizzazz. :D Well, dear friends, I am going to try and find my mojo before the week is over.  I want to thank you immensely for stopping by.  I really, really do appreciate your visit.  See you soon. :D

Classy Colors

Hello Again Friends!

I am popping in again today to share my design team project for Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  You can see my previous post by scrolling down. :)

The new challenge at Scrapping 4 Fun is to use only black and white.  Black and white seem like a classy color combination to me so I came up with this:

I used an embossing folder by Cricut for the "gift."
(Supplies: cardstock; Cricut embossing folder designed by Anna Griffin; stamp- American Crafts; black stone- Rox; crystal stones- Queen and Company; ribbon- Offray; ink- Memento; pop dots)

What comes to mind when you think of black and white colors?  We would love to see your creations, so get crafty and link up here. :)

And I would love to add my card to the current challenge at Inkspirational Challenges.  Their theme is CAS (clean and simple).

And as always, thank you so much for making time to visit me. :D

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Gone Fishing!

Howdy Everyone!

Are you ready for Father's Day?  I still need to complete a project for my dad, so I better hurry!  I realize that Father's Day may be a difficult time for some.  So I pray for God's strength & peace in your heart during this time.

Well, I was able to get another Father's Day card completed before Sunday.  I actually had this particular idea in my head earlier in June, but my first try ended up in the trash.  So last night, I decided to try again and here is the final result:

(Supplies: cardstock; images & sentiment stamps- Fresh Squeezed Stamps; Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers- Tim Holtz; colored pencils; sponge dauber; inks- Memento in Tuxedo Black & Gray Flannel; silver gel pen)

I would like to add this card to the following challenges, please:
*Catered Crop- Manly Men Recipe Swap
*Crazy 4 Challenges- Man Made
*Naughty or Nice Challenges- For the Men

Well, dear friends, time for me to get going.  I really, truly appreciate you stopping by. :D

Let's Chill!

Hola Y'all!

How are you?  The horrendous heat in my town has begun and so have my headaches, so I could NOT function yesterday.  Just to give you an idea of what the weather is like:  109 degrees yesterday and 100 right now (and it's still morning!).  I know many look forward to summer, but not me.  How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

I think today's simple card is appropriate for this weather, so let's begin.

I drew ice cubes with a glitter pen.  Love the sparkle.

I colored the drinks with distress inks.  I stamped the ink onto a piece of acetate, sprayed it with water and then painted using a paint brush.

(Supplies: cardstock; stamps- Hero Arts; sequins; ink- Archival black & Memento in Gray Flannel; glitter pen; water; Tim Holtz distress inks- Peacock Feathers & Mustard Seed; colored pencils; small paint brush)

That does it for me today, dear friends.  I am going to try and stay chilled today. ;)  Thank you soooooooo much for stopping by.  :D

Happy Crafting,
Angie

P.S.  Just want to remind you about the current challenge (Father's Day) at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  Link up your project by Thursday 12th of June 2014, @ 23:55pm European Time. Come join the fun. :D

Thinking of Unity

Hello, Hello All!!

Where did the week go?!!!?  I lost a day somewhere, because I was thinking today was Wednesday!  Oops.  I hope I didn't miss anything important yesterday. :O   And I hope y'all are doing well. :D

Well, I decided to play along with the current Unity Be Inspired Challenge. The colors are sooo yummy and the inspiration photo is so scrumptious.

I colored the flowers with colored pencils and the watering can with Copics.  This was my first time using Copics, and I DEFINITLEY need more practice.  Note to self- don't use Archival Ink, even though it says "non smear."  *cough, cough*

I added glossy accents over the little puddle.
(Supplies: cardstock, colored pencils, sequins, glossy accents, black ink, twine- We Are Memory Keepers, stamps- Unity Stamp Co., Copics in B00 & B02)

Well, time for me to run, but I do appreciate you making time to visit me. :D

Blooming Birthday

Happy Monday!

Did you have a good weekend?  Mine consisted of headaches induced by the heat and my dance kids.  Yep, I could tell school is out because their concentration was gone!!  Deep breath.... Better. :)

Ok, let's get to some happy stuff. ;)  I created a simple, yet bright, one layer card.

I added glitter glue to the center of the flower and butterflies.

(Supplies: cardstock; ink- Color Box & Memento; sentiment stamp- Papertrey Ink; image stamps- Stampendous & Recollections; glitter glue- Martha Stewart)

I would like to participate in the following challenges:
*Catered Crop- garden party
*Inkspirational Challenges  -bloom

Well, I bid you good day and thank you very much for sharing a bit of your time with me. :D
